A spirit based drink I normally associate with the festive season – especially the chocolate coated variety!
Whiskey based liqueurs come in 2 broad categories.
The cream loaded type such as Baileys, Coole Swan or the award winning Merrys White Chocolate Irish Cream Liqueur.
Or the spiced variety such as Drambuie, Flaming Pig or this blog’s focus – The Knot.
Packaged in a very attractively designed bottle with a marvelous mission statement and some straight talking advertising – The Knot is certainly appealing.
Falling somewhere between the rich honey thickness of Drambuie and the lovely warm Xmas spiciness of Flaming Pig – The Knot has a smooth rich caramel beginning followed through with some well balanced spice before the warming heat of the 100 proof whiskey makes it’s presence felt.
Made in Bailieborough – sold in Boston – it came into my hands via a contact in Belfast.
