World Whisky Day is fast approaching on Saturday the 19th May 2018.
As part of the build up I’m featuring a series of blogs – both old and new – over the next month focusing on a country from each letter of the alphabet – if possible – that makes whisky.
Today is M for Mexican Whisky.
You heard that right – Mexican Whisky.

From a country that is more famous for it’s world beating tequila it’s a short hop to whisky distillation.
The raw materials may be different.
But the process is essentially the same – distillation to capture the pure alcohol.

The Mexicans have a long history & tradition of distillation.
And when you know the current owners of Bushmill Distillery in Ireland are none other than Mexican spirit giants Jose Cuervo – it’s not such a big leap.
I also admire their mission statement.

There is Mexican Whisky!
It’s bold.
It’s clear.
Mexican Whisky is here!
I wonder what it tastes like?
Sláinte.
I’d like to thank the Mexican Whisky Association for the use of their images.
