World Whisky Day is fast approaching on Saturday the 19th May 2018.
As part of the build up I’m featuring a series of blogs – both old and new – over the next month focusing on a country from each letter of the alphabet – if possible – that makes whisky.
Today is Q for a quandary.
Again I’m stumped.
There is only one country listed under Q by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs And Trade – Qatar.
I had the pleasure of actually setting foot in this country – well – the airport in Doha.
We had the grand total of 1 hour on the way out to Australia.

Slightly longer on the way back.
I actually went looking for a duty free shop. The flight only served Jack & Johnnie and I fancied something more palatable for the journey home.
It was a wasted search.
Qatar has highly restricted alcohol laws – read here.
Spare us the Qatar anyone?
Sláinte.
