I enjoy picking up unusual whiskies wherever I go.
Like this golf ball shaped miniature from Scotland.

There is minimal information on the label.
Just the name – Old St Andrews Scotch Whisky. .
The ABV – 40%.
And the quantity – 50ml.

And I’m happy with that.
There’s a nice crest on the cap too.
Dum Spiro Spero.

Translates into ‘While I breathe, I hope.’
Well I just hope the contents haven’t degraded like other miniatures I’ve encountered!
The colour was reassuringly pale.
The nose was fine. Some biscuity malty notes with a touch of warming vanilla coming through. Very easy going.
The taste was grand too.
For a novelty bottle I found a decent amount of character, flavour & a lovely degree of heat at the end to make the purchase worthwhile.
Turns out the company behind this whisky have been doing good business for the last 75 years.
And why not?
Whisky & golf are two of Scotland’s most famous attractions.
What better than enjoying them both at once?
